A Superhero Celebration

On the last Saturday in October we celebrated our FOUR year old, superhero style!

Friends and family joined us at 7 Acre Wood.  The weather was beautiful (although the gusty winds made party prep a bit of a challenge!)

There was so much to do including mini golf, a hayride, a train, feeding the barn animals, playground, gigantic chess and basketball.....

and Owen's favorite, the zip line!!

Posing at the pumpkin patch

The "SUPER" cake made by Red Barn Bakery!  Just what Owen dreamed of!

Making a wish blowing out FOUR candles!

My "super" kids :)

Owen is a lucky boy to have such wonderful and supportive extended family.  Thanks to each of you who traveled to share this time with our birthday boy :)

Owen's birthday week

We stretched Owen's fourth birthday celebration out for an entire week!!  While he didn't seem to mind, he was a bit confused.  He kept saying "So is dis my real boo-day?" or "Is dis my pretend boo-day?".  He still insists he will have another birthday "next week" instead of next year :).  After church on Sunday (his real bday) we enjoyed cupcakes and presents after lunch.  He chose to stay home and play with his new treasures instead of going to the movies.  While he slept the night before I decorated the house with streamers and balloons.  The boy LOVES balloons...

On Tuesday I took pizza and cupcakes to school at lunchtime.

Some of his favorite little friends :)

On the following Saturday we celebrated Superhero style.  More to come in another post....

A visit to P-6 Farms

This weekend a group from our church traveled to Montgomery to P-6 Farms.  It was a beautiful Fall day and we had lots of fun!

The whole group before entrance

The first thing we did was the corn maze.  It took our group about an hour to find our way out :)  Here are the kids' "lost in a corn maze" faces.

There were so many activities offered at the farm.
Wheelbarrow rides

Duck races

Tractor drawn hayride

PVC and culvert slides

Happy Halloween 2013

Happy Halloween from the Smiths!  Here's a little walk down Halloween memory lane....

Trick-or-treat 2013 from our beautiful peacock and little Coach Smith :)

Owen didn't settle on a costume until the day of!  He couldn't quite decide among Spider man, a pirate and this :)  He was mostly excited about the whistle and head set (until he realized how very heavy it was....)

TOUCHDOWN!!!

Strike a pose!  She wanted me to take a photo of her like this....

Aqua is her current favorite color and it was love at first sight for her with this costume!  She got a little irritated with everyone asking if she was a fairy.  (Hello....those are clearly feathers!)

Ready to collect some candy! :)

Our first stop was the church Fall festival.  They do a great job of transforming the gym into a plethora of fun!  The kids enjoyed the cake walk, bounce house, games galore and way too much candy.  Emma successfully mastered the ring toss six out of six tries!!  After the festival we stopped by a few local houses.

Because of an abundance of rainfall in our area the Thursday night football games were cancelled and Daddy got to go with us!  We are so glad he did :)
