Emma is TWELVE!

Our Emma Grace is twelve!  We are so blessed that she made us parents a DOZEN years ago, and our life has been a sweet adventure ever since :)  She now stands 5'1" tall and wears size 10 shoes!  We can no longer share many shoes, because her feet are bigger than mine!


She especially enjoys baking, crafting and editing movies.  She plays piano and volleyball and takes dance.  She is playing basketball for the first time this year and enjoys being part of both her sixth grade girls school choir as well as the church children's choir.

A Trip to Aggieland

Jarrod and the kiddos ventured to the TAMU vs LSU football game last month for Hudson's very first Aggie game!  He has been chanting "Hullabaloo kanak kanak" for weeks now!


Way back when and now {same day six years apart - 2012 vs 2018!}


The kiddos got a behind the scenes tour and were thrilled to pose with Reveille!!


They were also able to snag a picture with the Yell Leaders!  What a game to see in person!  Seven overtimes and memories to last forever :)

A visit with Santa

This weekend the kids visited Santa!  A local bank sets up a cute display and offers cookies, hot chocolate and letters to mail to Santa :)


Our girl will never outgrow Santa's lap!!  She told Santa she wants a live bunny.


This year Hudson calls Santa "Chri-mas"!  When asked what Santa says he replies with a hearty "Ho ho ho!"  He actually had a long in depth visit with him at the mall this week, but took this visit rather seriously.  Together, Santa and Hudson decided that he wants a red toy truck :)


 Owen promised Santa he was GOOD this year!  He says he wants a drone.

Halloween 2018

Happy Halloween from our unicorn, football player and adorable farmer!!


Emma is the most beautiful unicorn I've ever seen :)


So much candy!!  It's a tradition to divide and count ;)


Owen posed himself!  His favorite NFL player is Dede Westbrook with the Jacksonville Jaguars.  He also plans to wear this costume to school this Spring for career day ;)



Jarrod did such a great job converting the wheelchair into this amazing tractor!  We got so many compliments and Hudson enjoyed showing it off :)

Owen is NINE!

Happy {9th} Birthday to Owen!!  We had a wonderful time celebrating his final single digit!  


Jarrod took him to dinner and to play video games the night before his big day, and on his birthday he played in a football game and then we enjoyed hibachi for dinner before ice cream cake and gifts!

                   

                Owen is energetic, curious, persistent, social, competitive, playful, strong willed and adventurous.  He craves attention, marches to his own beat and is truly one of a kind!  He especially enjoys playing sports, fishing, DANCING and exploring the great outdoors!  He rarely sits still but usually falls asleep quickly at bedtime.


He makes me a better person and tests my patience often.  He is HILARIOUS and makes us belly laugh every single day.  He wants to be an NFL football player when he grows up.  He is a SOLID negotiator, and we pray that he uses those skills to be very successful later in life ;)   


Owen keeps a very busy extra curricular schedule.  He plays flag football, basketball and baseball depending on the season.  He also does piano, karate and church children's choir and Awanas.

Pumpkin patch

Hudson took annual pumpkin photos to please his mama!  He was the cutest punkin' in the patch for sure :)


Dad came along and was so helpful entertaining Hudson and making him smile for the camera!



We even took this gigantic pumpkin home to display on our front porch!

Hudson is 3-and-a-half!

Hudson is 3-and-a-half!!  He is now 33 pounds of pure sugar!


In early June he started confidently counting!  He often says "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13...18"!  Just in the past week he surprised us with reciting the entire alphabet!  What a smart cookie!



He especially loves airplanes, trains and guitars!  His newest favorite foods include grilled cheese, pop tarts and yogurt.  He wants a bite of whatever anyone else has!


This Spring we both enjoyed an eight week music class!  Hudson especially loved playing the instruments, hearing the guitar and free dancing!  We still listen to the songs on cd and he instantly recognizes them :)


Hudson was accepted into the Baylor LAP {Language & Articulation Preschool}.  He participated in the program for the month of July, and then resumed after Labor day for the school year!  


His vocab continues to explode, and he is finally starting to piece a few words together at a time.  He says things such as "elegator (elevator), push button, open door!" and "fish swimming ocean"!  He is SO much fun and is really becoming more and more aware of the world around him. 

 Other new phrases include: "over there", "right there", "Mama kiss" (as he leans in for a smooch!), "again", "I stuck", "ready, set, GO!!", "go play in room", "go home", "go shoppin", "stop it" "that's enough" "right NOW" (while wagging his index finger), "hush", "oww that hurts", "Mama hold you" (please pick me up), "roll" (put me in my wheelchair), "yump yump" (he likes to jump on the trampoline outside).  


He is usually a happy-go-lucky kid,  That is, unless you don't honor his request of "more waffle", he finds a toy car without doors that open or the mini display football helmet doesn't fit.  He still naps every afternoon.  Some days he even says "paci, tummy" when he is ready.  Other days he negotiates watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse instead!  


Hudson works hard at therapy!  He went through some mild separation therapy around 37 months, especially when being dropped off for therapy.  This is not a stage he had been through before.  He does PT & OT once per week.  He recently obtained knee immobilizers, which allow him to "stand" while holding onto a bar.  Over the summer he figured out how to get from laying flat on his back to a sitting position!

First day of school 2018

{Happy} first day of school to E+O!!


Owen is in 3rd grade this year!  His teacher is Mrs Fischer and he is excited to have several of his best buddies in homeroom this year.




Emma is in 6th grade (last year of intermediate).  Her ST teacher is Mrs Mosley and she rotates eight periods each day.  Her electives are pre-athletics and choir.
